RPL application does not automatically confer eligibility for a right to either RPL or a place on a GP Training Programme nor will it have an effect on your scheme preference. RPL offers will be made on the basis of training schemes, ability to accommodate RPL and candidate rank. Please note that all RPL decisions are final and are not open to appeal.
The Irish College of GPs can facilitate an adaptation period (RPL Catch-Up Course) and increased minimum attendance at day release to compensate for day release content missed by the candidate. Engagement with this adaptation is mandatory for RPL trainees.
Applicants that possess higher specialist medical training including CSCST and examination in Medicine Paediatrics or Emergency Medicine from any other jurisdiction, which has been accepted as equivalent by the RCPI/RCSI, and as such is registerable by the Medical Council of Ireland, please submit the documentation which may be considered.
The Irish College of GPs reserves the right to revert back to the applicant should further information be required.
