Date: Thursday 1 August 2024
WIDE (Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity and Equality) Strategy Launch

On Monday, 22 July, we were delighted to launch our WIDE (Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality) Strategy, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace for all employees. This initiative represents our dedication to promoting a culture where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

Core Pillars

Our WIDE strategy is built upon four core pillars: Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality. Each pillar is designed to address critical aspects of the employee experience and ensure a holistic approach to creating a positive work environment.

  1. Wellbeing: We recognise that the mental, physical, and emotional health of our employees is paramount. By prioritising wellbeing, we aim to create a supportive environment where employees can perform at their best.
  2. Inclusion: Inclusion is about ensuring that every employee feels a sense of belonging. We are committed to creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and encouraged.
  3. Diversity: Embracing diversity means recognising and valuing the unique backgrounds, talents, and perspectives of our workforce. Our diversity initiatives will focus on recruitment and retention strategies to build a diverse talent pool. We will foster an inclusive culture that values and respects differences in race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, the traveling community and other characteristics.
  4. Equality: Equality is about ensuring that all employees have access to the same opportunities and resources. We will conduct regular reviews of our policies and procedures to eliminate biases, implement fair compensation practices, and provide equal opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Employee Engagement and Participation

A WIDE Committee has been established to promote a culture of wellbeing, inclusion, diversity and equality within the College and to organise and support initiatives that foster a positive and supportive work environment.

The Board and Senior Leadership Team fully support this initiative, and we believe that the success of the WIDE strategy relies on active participation and engagement from all employees.  We encourage everyone to get involved, share their ideas, and provide feedback. Together, we can create a workplace that reflects our shared values and supports the success of every team member.
Thank you for joining us on this important journey.

Together, we can build a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
